League Division 1: 8th (of 22) - 13 wins, 17 draws, 12 losses; 56 goals scored, 52 goals conceded

QPR returned to League Division 1, where they finished in the upper half of the table. In the FA Cup, they were knocked out in the sixth round by Leicester City. In the League Cup, QPR were knocked out in the fourth round by Plymouth Argyle. At the beginning of the season, QPR had a four game tour of Sweden and Norway. At the end of the season, QPR had a three game tour of Jamaica.

Note that there were three instances where a home programme had two covers. This was due to power problems.
