QPR continued play in the League Championship, winning the League and being promoted to the Premier League. In the FA Cup, QPR were knocked out in the third round by Blackburn Rovers. In the League Cup, QPR were knocked out in the first round by Port Vale. Prior to the season, QPR travelled to Italy for two matches.
