League Division 1: 19th (of 22) - 13 wins, 11 draws, 18 losses; 53 goals scored, 72 goals conceded

QPR continued play in League Division 1, finishing a single position above relegation. In the FA Cup, QPR were knocked out in the third round by Doncaster Rovers. In the League Cup, QPR were knocked out in the fifth round by Ipswich Town after a replay. At the beginning of the season, QPR participated in a five game tour of Ireland and Scotland. At the conclusion of the season, QPR travelled to Germany to play one match.

QPR participated in the UEFA Cup, being knocked out in the second round by Partizan Belgrade of Yugoslavia.
