League Division 1: 2nd (of 22) - 24 wins, 11 draws, 7 losses; 67 goals scored, 33 goals conceded

QPR continued play League Division 1, where they finished second by one point. In the FA Cup, they were knocked out in the third round by Newcastle United. In the League Cup, QPR were knocked out in the fourth round by Newcastle United. At the beginning of the season, QPR had a five game tour of the West Germany and Spain where in the latter, they participated in the Athletic Bilbao Tournament.
