1908/09
Southern League/Western League

Southern League: 15th (of 21) - 12 wins, 12 draws, 16 losses; 52 goals scored, 50 goals conceded
Western League Division 1 Section A (midweek): 2nd (of 7) - 6 wins, 1 draws, 5 losses; 28 goals scored, 24 goals conceded

QPR continued in the Southern and Western Leagues and as with the previous season, were in Section A of the Western League. This would be the final time that QPR participated in the Western League with all clubs from Division 1 leaving that League to concentrate on the Southern League. The replay of the FA Charity Shield was the first time QPR had played a match in August. However, they were no match and lost 4-0. After such a successful 1907-08 season in the Southern League, QPR dropped well down the ladder to 15th while they moved up to 2nd in the Western League. The FA Cup saw another poor performance being knocked out at the first try.

QPR attempted to join League Division 2 but then withdrew their application. Meanwhile, they had resigned from the Southern League. After two meetings (Southern League and FA), they were re-admitted into a 21-team competition. However, QPR had to play all their matches midweek unless a suitable opponent could be found for a Saturday match. Thus, many Saturday matches were Friendlies. Further, on two Saturdays the 1st team were merged with the Reserves to create two teams to participate in the South Eastern League in two different matches.
